Freddy Tour

Freddy has lived his entire life in Sitio de Mata, the small town just off the trail on Stage 6. He’s easy to talk to and the locals say that without you even realizing it, you’ll find yourself on a “Freddy Tour.” You’ll hike through the sugarcane fields, visit the famous hacienda in Sitio de Mata, with the church that came from Italy. He’ll point out the different birds and flowers as you traverse up the trail to the ridge. You’ll then cut over to follow the hidden trail up the local “quebrada” (creek) where canyoning is offered. At the top of the creek, he’ll show you the towns water supply system, capping it off with a symbolic drink from the creek, just downstream of the Mother Mary statue. Even if you don’t speak spanish, you’ll still know what Freddy is talking about, he’s just one of those kind of guys.
