There are a handful of must-stop, famous sodas along the Camino de Costa Rica. Cucho’s, located on Stage 5, just down the street from Cabañas el Paso del Viento, is one of those places.
It’s a classic soda that’s open-air, has a tasty menu, and their pricing is very reasonable.
When you go to pay, you’ll notice that nearly every Camino de Costa Rica hiking company has slapped up a sticker by the register. Whenever I stop by, it seems that there are Camino hikers there sitting down for a meal or grabbing a quick coffee.
On the menu, you’ll find regular soda items, such as Casados or Arroz con Pollo – but my favorite, especially after a long day coming out of the Pacuare region, is their famous cheeseburger and fries. The best part? It’s only $5. If you’re absolutely starving though, then the arroz con Pollo is a ton of food, you won’t leave hungry, that’s for sure.
