About Rio Vista Lodge
Rio Vista Lodge is typically booked as part of a Pacuare River rafting experience, however, the rate listed on this page is just for a single night and then you hike out.
Hiking West, Caribbean to the Pacific: Once reserved they will meet you at the cable cart that crosses the Pacuare River on river left (cross the river) and then float you the 1.5 kilometers to their lodge. If you book the rafting portion, then after spending the night you will raft through the Class IV Pacuare gorge ending in the town of Siquirres. Afterwards, they will drop you off wherever you like to catch back up on the trail. If you didn’t book the rafting portion of the trip, then you can hike out of the canyon from the lodge towards Tres Equis.
Hiking East, Pacific to the Caribbean with rafting: The logistics are smoother for hikers going this direction as the Pacuare River also flows towards the Caribbean. The trip meeting point is here which is just 1.1 kilometers from CabaƱas el Paso del Viento and the ending point is in Siquirres, putting you very close to Hotel Pacuare or 9 kilometers from Casa Yolanda. Going this direction means you will skip past the indigenous section, eliminating the need to hire an indigenous guide.
Zero Day consideration For a memorable ‘zero day’ experience, Rio Vista Lodge is an excellent choice. Their 3-day, 2-night package combines adventure and relaxation. On day one, you’ll raft into the lodge, settle into comfortable lodging, and enjoy a delicious meal. Day two offers the choice of adventure: tackle a zipline course and waterfall hike and swimming hole, or simply relax and enjoy the lodge. All meals are provided, and Starlink internet is available allowing you to catch up on any life items back home. Finally, on day three, you’ll raft out through the stunning Pacuare Gorge. The package includes all meals, comfortable lodging, and the perfect blend of excitement and unwinding.
